WFH (Write from Home) Workshop: Creativity Under Constraint: Finding Peace in Isolation by Desmond Kon Zhicheng-Mingdé
Now also available on 16 May, Saturday, 3pm–5pm!
The WFH Workshops bring writers (virtually!) into your home for a series of workshops to help us through this time to write and feel a little more alright.
How does being cooped up at home feel? Are you suffering from cabin fever? Are you lapping up the seclusion? In these interesting times, how might one immerse oneself in this unique situation, and use it to generate writing? In the first half of this session, participants share their personal experience navigating this circuit breaker. In the second half, we’ll engage in a writing exercise, and read aloud our new work in this safe, open space. Facilitated by poet and fictionist Desmond Kon Zhicheng-Mingdé, this 2-hour workshop will be conducted online. Participants will receive a set of readings specially curated for this event.
This workshop will be 2 hours long, conducted on Zoom, and limited to 15 participants.
Desmond Kon Zhicheng-Mingdé is the author of a novel, quasi-memoir, five hybrid works, and nine poetry collections. Founding editor of Squircle Line Press, he has edited more than 20 books and co-produced three audiobooks. The former journalist is the recipient of numerous awards, including the IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award, Independent Publisher Book Award, National Indie Excellence Award, Poetry World Cup, Singapore Literature Prize, and three Living Now Book Awards.
